Children’s Committee Shopping Spree

On Saturday, December 9th from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m., the children’s committee will be hosting a Children’s Christmas Shopping Spree in the Fellowship Hall.  The children are invited to come and shop for family members/friends.  We will have helpers there to assist with the shopping as well as with the wrapping.  Your child can then take these presents home to place under their Christmas tree.  We will also be providing snacks while listening to Christmas music.  It is mandatory that you sign up for this event, so that our store will be sufficiently stocked for the shoppers.  There are sign-up sheets in the sanctuary in front of the piano and the organ.  Please fill one out and drop in the offering plate or you can hand-deliver it to a children’s committee member.  Thank you.

On Halloween, we will be helping the ALFD with trunk-or-treat.  This event starts at 6 until 9.  There will be decorated trunks for the kids to trick-or-treat, hotdogs, French fries, drinks, and a haunted house.  We welcome anyone who wants to provide a trunk and hand out candy.  We would also appreciate candy donations.  There is a collection box in the copy room for candy.   This event is FREE to everyone!

Speaker will be Pastor Scott Bolton.

Covered dish will be held immediately following the worship service

You are invited to join us for our 158th Homecoming on Sunday, October 1st 2017. This special occasion provides an opportunity to gather with family and friends, old and new, to celebrate the season and rejoice in God’s goodness.  This year we are honored to have Pastor Scott Bolton lead our worship service.  Our worship service will begin at 11:00 am and will be followed by our traditional covered dish lunch at the Archer Lodge Community Center. Please bring some of your family’s favorite food to share. There will be someone at the community center beginning at 9:30 to assist you with your food items.
Homecoming is a special time that also allows us to reflect on our past and honor the contributions of those that have given so much over the years to the ministry of this church and the community.  Please invite your friends and family as we enjoy another wonderful Homecoming at White Oak Baptist Church!

Neuse River Clean Up

On April 29th – RESCHEDULED DUE TO FLOODING FOR JULY 29TH –  we (White Oak) will be meeting down by the river to pray, and assist the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) with our semiannual clean up.  We will meet at Neuse River Adventures (Johnny House’s place) at 7:30am to begin our clean up.  We are normally on the river until around noon or 1:00pm.  So bring water, snacks, sunscreen, insect repellent, gloves, and clothing you don’t mind getting dirty and wet.

This is a fantastic time for fellowship, a great time to disconnect from the world and reconnect with others, as well as do one of the tasks God put us here for.

“Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and keep it.”  Genesis 2:15.

Mark Jackson is the point of contact. If interested please contact him so a boat seat can be reserved.
